TOPIC - BECAUSE IT'S ALL ABOUT US.
This term we will be looking at how our environment influences our lives. We will be looking at our favourite place in our community and comparing our way of living with country living. The Year 3's and Year 4's will be visiting a farm this term. Parental help will be wonderful at this time.
Our learning experiences for this term are
Writing - WALT write a recount which is writing about something we have experienced.
W.A.L.T. write a narrative. We will be looking at using adjectives in our stories to make them
more interesting as we describe characters in different stories.
W.A.L.T. write a persuasive text using cause and effect to show our opinions of a certain topic. The children will be making advertisements and use fairy tales to explore this Genre.
Maths - Number and Measurement and Statistics..
P.E. - Large Ball Skills.
This term the children will be visiting the Otara Pools every week on a Thursday for a half and hour swimming lesson. We are very lucky to have this opportunity.
In term 4 our school will be doing a production. Children will be given the opportunity to audition for a part in the play. We are also having oral reading competitons this term. Two children in the class will be chosen to go into the finals.
