At ESOL we have been learning all about the vocabulary of bicycles.  We now know all about the different parts of a bike including chain rings, handlebars, the gear shift and even the derailleur!

Mrs McKeown’s and Mrs McKechnie’s groups worked together to create songs about the parts of a bike. We changed the words to the well-known song ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’.

Read these wonderful songs our students have written (or sing them to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!!)

Bicycle, bicycle, here we go.
Down the hill, round and round.
Tracks in the park, wheels are flat.
Helmets are strong, protects my head.
Bicycle, bicycle, here we go.
Up the hill, round and round.

Bicycle, bicycle, stop, stop, stop.
Pedals turning, going too fast.
Wheels are flying, round and round.
Helmet stops me getting hurt.
Bicycle, bicycle, stop, stop, stop.
We are going far too fast.
