Term 3 – Once Upon a TimeScreen Shot 2017-08-02 at 9.19.56 PM

This term we are learning about communication and technology.  We will be reading lots of different stories and trying to solve some of the problems they are having in the stories by designing and making different things to help them.  Some of the stories we are looking at are ‘The Three Little Pigs’, ‘Aliens Love Underpants’, ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Room on the Broom’.

Term 3 – Enviro focus – Busy Bees

We are having our own Acorn Fun Fridays this term and will be investigating bees.  We have lots of fun ways of looking at the importance of bees in our environment.

Lateness

It is really important that your child comes to school on time everyday.  We start our learning as soon as school starts, some of us start our learning before the bell.  If you are late, it is important that your child goes to the office and signs in.  Your child then brings a late pass to their class so the classroom teacher knows when your child has arrived to school.

Celebrate Home Learning

We love sharing our learning with you at home and we would love to hear more about what you are doing at home.  If you go out for a day or do some cooking or some art and crafts, please share it with us.  We are always happy to share photos or videos or talk about things that you have created that your child brings in.  Making those connections with home are really important to us and the kids love to share what they have been up to.

Writing kits

Fun writing opportunities in the Acorns!  We love using all of the different writing materials we have in our writing kits.  We are delivering letters to one another in our letterboxes.  Screen Shot 2017-08-03 at 4.37.56 PM

Seesaw

Keep commenting on your child’s learning on Seesaw, the children really love to see your comments and know that you are getting involved in their learning.

litter free

Litter Free Lunches

Thank you to all of the families that are packing litter free lunches, we are slowly getting less rubbish in our lunch boxes.  Please try and pack your lunch with reusable zip lock bags and containers rather than tin foil, Glad wrap and other items that we throw into the landfill.

Collecting resources

Lower E/F is continuing to use different learning areas to learn, play and interact in.  We are always looking for new resources for our areas and really appreciate any donations of resources that you are not using any more.  If you have any of the following at home that you are no longer using or need, we would really appreciate them for our learning areas –

  • Cereal boxes, tissue boxes or any other junk modelling items
  • Odd buttons and ribbons
  • Fabric
  • Toys
  • Lego or building items
