Dear Parents and Caregivers of Baverstock Oaks School


We will be holding a school fun run as a major fundraising event this year on

Tuesday 19 June 2018

We’re doing it to raise funds to build brand new enviro gardens and tidying up of the present garden space. We are also looking to purchase school track suits for our teams to wear when representing the school and to build an all-weather shelter for the drop off zone.

About the Program

The school fun run promotes healthy and active lifestyles while helping us raise funds! It’s all about participation, with students treated to a great day as a reward for their fundraising efforts.  Family support is key to our fundraising success and we encourage everyone to get involved.


How Does My Child Fundraise?

Firstly, go to and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundraising revolves around this page. Once you have completed this, read through your Sponsorship Form, which has instructions on how to raise money and order prizes.

Students who raise just $10 will receive a reward for their effort. The more they raise, the better their reward – don’t forget to check these out in the sponsorship form! We have educated students on the dangers of door knocking without adult supervision, and we encourage you to reiterate this at home. The best people to ask for sponsorship are people you know (e.g. friends and family in NZ or overseas, work colleagues and neighbours).


Online Fundraising

The easiest way to help your child raise money is through online fundraising, where students raise an average of $120. On top of raising more money, it’s also safer and easier than doorknocking and you don’t have to worry about handling money! To start fundraising online, go to your student profile page at and share your online fundraising link.

Getting Involved

Not only can you support the school and students with your sponsorship – We would really like you to come along on the 19th to support your child/ren as they run for fun! More details about the time of the run will be available shortly.



Prizes MUST be ordered between the 27th June and 4th July.

Simply visit to create / log into your Profile Page between these dates.  Then click on the ‘CLAIM YOUR PRIZE’ button and follow the prompts. If you have any questions, please contact the school fun run team on 0800 377 170 and they will gladly assist!




  1. By donating $5.00 or more to this fundraiser you may be able to claim a tax credit.
  1. The Baverstock Oaks Fun run is supported by an external company set up to assist schools with admin, and providing prizes. For this service the School Fun run organisation retain 20% of the total fundraised for the use of the website for creating profiles and providing administration support.  Another 30% is retained for the sourcing of the incentive prizes for the students.

If you prefer for your child/ren not to take part in the organised fundraiser with incentive prizes, we ask that you fundraise separately using the fun run sponsorship form and return this and the cash to the office by the 27th June.

If your child is NOT taking part in the Prize incentive fundraiser please email [email protected] to advise your child’s name and class number.

  1. The fun run is replacing the ‘athon’ that we have run over the past few years.

The school fun run fundraiser is one of a number of events and activities that the FAB (Friends at Baverstock) team organise throughout the year.

The events are held to support the school to enable students to have additional resources that otherwise might not be possible without the extra financial support.

The FAB team have contributed to raising funds in the past to projects such as:

  • Purchasing a school van
  • Purchase and installation of astro turf
  • Upgrading the school television station (BNN – Baverstock Network News)
  • Assisting in the installation of an all weather cricket pitch
