Each year Baverstock Oaks participates in the “Kids for Kids” choir event.  This is a great opportunity for those children who enjoy singing.  They practice a number of songs and perform these with other schools at the “Kids for Kids” choir performance. This is an event enjoyed by many and is held in Term 3 or 4 each year.

We have groups of students who participate in our Indian Dance Group.  They perform at assemblies and various community events.

Baverstock has a strong Kapa Haka group that performs a number of powhiris each year.  These occur at the start of each term to welcome new families to our school, at our International Food Festival, and on other special occasions.  Our Kapa Haka group comprises of students from Y 1-6.

Good afternoon Mrs Crowley,
Today I attended the Koanga festival held at Cockle bay school to watch my children perform for their school – Our lady star of the Sea. My children have attended every Koanga festival for the last 5 years and we have seen many groups in this time.

Prior to my children preforming I had the pleasure and such a great privilege to watch your amazing students perform today. Their voices were strong, proud and at times Angelic. Your students moved me emotionally so much I was compelled to write to you. So, thank you for sharing your beautiful Taonga with us today they made us very very Proud.

In 2016 our Pasifika group was established. They competently entertain others with cultural dances from various Pacific Island cultures. Many thanks to the parents and teachers who train this group.

We have a ukulele group who practice each year to perfom at the annual Kiwilele festival.  Over the year our group learn a number of songs and join schools from all over New Zealand to perform at the ‘Kiwileles’ festival in Term 4.

Each year Baverstock Oaks are represented at the HPPA dance festival. We have two groups who train hard during Term 2 and 3, a senior and a junior group. Each year they impress us with their dedication to dance and the wonderful way they represent our school and entertain the audience.

We have a group of teachers passionate about teaching sewing. They take the sewing club during a lunchtime each week If you are passionate about sewing and would love to help us out please let us know.
