FAB (Friends at Baverstock)
Our FAB is our school PTA. They meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.00pm once a month.
If you are new to the school this is a wonderful way to meet other families in our community.
These meetings are also attended by our SLT (Senior Leadership Team – Principal and Associate Principals). While the FAB does a lot of fundraising they also have a lot of fun and are an integral part of our school community. Over the past few years they have raised funds to: purchase a school van, purchase and install astro turf, upgrade our school television station (BNN – Baverstock Network News) and put money towards the installation of an all weather cricket pitch in our school grounds. Look out for FAB meeting dates in our school newsletter.

Why does the PTA undertake so much Fundraising?
Baverstock Oaks School is a Decile 6 school. The major implication of this rating is the amount of funding given to the school by the government. As a general overview, more money per child is provided to Decile 1 schools, than to Decile 6 schools. As a result, you will often find that parents of children at higher Decile schools will be asked to contribute more in terms of donations, trip fees, time, equipment and fundraising.
The purpose of conveying this information to you is not to question the rationale that underpins this funding, but to inform you of the Decile rating funding scheme and the impact it has on Baverstock Oaks School.
