Fundraising Update
At Baverstock Oaks School, we’re fortunate to participate in the Government Funded Donation Scheme through our Board of Trustees. This means we don’t request general donations from families. The only annual fee is $10 for Seesaw, and we appreciate any additional support from families for our fundraising events. This year’s fundraising efforts are dedicated to enhancing the Heart of our School, creating a vibrant and fun space for all our students to enjoy.
Our major fundraising event, the Colour Fun Run, is currently underway. We encourage every student to participate in this important event. Although we have 687 students, so far only 166 have contributed this equates to only a quarter of our students. If each student could make even a small contribution, it would greatly boost the success of this initiative.
Thank you to all the families who have supported us. Your contributions make a real difference in what we can provide your children.
Staffing Updates
As we approach the end of the year, we’ll be saying goodbye to several valued members of our teaching and support staff:
- Mr Josiah McNamara will be joining an international school in Brunei.
- Mrs Kelsie Garratt is moving to Glendowie Primary.
- Mrs Melanie Else will be taking a CRT release role at Botany Downs Primary.
- Mrs Shannon Bester has accepted a Team Leader role at Elim Primary.
- Mrs Helen Dibley will shift from full-time classroom teaching to support Classroom Release Time and relief teaching at Baverstock Oaks.
- Miss Kimberley Buchanan will be leaving us at the end of the year as she prepares to welcome her second child.
We also bid farewell to three of our Learning Assistants:
- Mrs Shireen Shareef and her family are relocating to Melbourne.
- Mrs Karen Leach has accepted a position with the Psychology Group in Howick.
- Mrs Carolyn Norris, who has worked in our resource room this year, will be taking on a new administrative role.
Additionally, Ms Frances Fraser, our Executive Officer for the past 14 years, will be leaving to pursue new opportunities in 2025.
We are grateful for the dedication and contributions of each of these team members and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
We have interviewed and secured excellent quality teachers for next year and I will introduce these to you in our first newsletter in 2025.
School Picnic
We look forward to celebrating together at our end-of-year picnic on Thursday, November 7th! This event will also feature the finals of Baverstock’s Got Talent, where our students will showcase their impressive talents. We hope to see you all there for a fun and festive evening!
